Breakfast program
Your St. Jude’s team served 129 breakfasts this past Saturday morning. By 9 am the tables were
full and friends were enjoying a hot coffee and a bowl of porridge. We continue to see new
faces every time along with some who come week after week. This time we met a few folks
who were obviously living rough – outside in the rains we’ve had the last few weeks and as
temperatures seesaw between warm and cold. They are very grateful when the clothing team
can offer a clean shirt, a warm sweater and some dry socks. One of our friends showed us his
new duffle bags on wheels – gifted to him by LTC drivers he has come to know since he rides
the buses to keep warm. There’s a great story of love in action, as June talked about in her
Sunday homily.
Thanks to all for your ongoing donations of food, clothing, dollars, and prayers for this vital
ministry – please join us any time. The next breakfast is Saturday May 18th from 9 – 10:30 am.
St. Paul’s Food Bank. Our next Food Bank Sunday is this Sunday, 12th May. They will
appreciate cereals, canned soup, pasta sauce, pasta noodles, mac & cheese, baked beans,
canned vegetables, canned meat, peanut butter, and lastly, plastic containers and reusable
cloth bags.
