thanks to Derek Shadlock and his team of helpers on a job very well done!

Outreach

Outreach for June
Men’s Month:

St. Paul’s Foodbank – June 9th.
Community Breakfast – June 1st, 15th, and 29th.
Strawberries for St. Jude’s: Financial donations appreciated to provide fresh strawberries for the
community breakfast closest to Canada Day (29th)
National Indigenous Day – June 21st.
Men’s Mission: providing emergency shelter for an individual or family, or caring for those
with mental health needs, Mission Services of London is there with a message of hope through
faith serving those who struggle with poverty and homelessness. They provide food, shelter,
clothing, crisis intervention and rehabilitation. Needs: gloves, toiletries, razors, underwear, wallets.
Unity Project: working to stabilize people in their moment of crisis and to engage them in their
own process toward stability while utilizing all available community resources. Housing (with
support) is the solution to homelessness and we will continue to develop our program around
this outcome for participants. Needs: socks, bus tickets, t-shirts, small backpacks, razors,
underwear, coffee mugs.

Breakfast program
It looks like we will have good weather for our Breakfast this coming Saturday. This means we
can put a few chairs outside for our friends to enjoy their coffee and visit with others in the fresh
air. Given our high number of 154 last time, we will prep for increased numbers this week. We
are hearing from other program that their numbers are up as well – St. John’s served over
200 dinners this past weekend, and St. Michael’s on Cheapside served over 100 dinners this past
Monday. The rising numbers are very troubling but not unexpected with higher food costs and
rents. This does mean that we are all looking at our budgets to see how we can continue to offer
nutritious food, keeping in mind our money tree is not yet growing in the backyard. Your
financial donations mean so much to the program as do your prayers. Thank you!
We are also looking for donations of men’s toiletries – good razors, small shaving cream,
deodorant, body wash – and men’s summer clothing and footwear. Please drop in anytime to see
how the program operates and visit with our friends – those who come frequently and those
who drop in for a visit just once.
Our next breakfast is this Saturday June 1st from 9 – 10:30 am in All Saints Hall. All are
welcome!

St. Paul’s Food Bank. Our next Food Bank Sunday is Sunday, 9th June, and Joanne Lubansky
Johns has kindly stepped in to take your gifts to the cathedral, as Doug and Laura will be away
that week. The food bank is asking this time for Cereal, Pasta Noodles, Pasta Sauce, Baked
Beans, Tuna, Granola Bars, Canned Vegetables, used containers, used grocery bags.

Let’s Celebrate

Birthdays! This week to Frank F., Victoria S., and Dale M.. Hope
you all had/have a happy day!

And also congratulations to Mary Anne and Ray for passing yet another milestone as they
celebrate their anniversary on 30th May!

Help needed. We are looking for a few volunteers to join the AV team that runs the slides
that you see on the screen on Sunday mornings. Some computer experience is helpful and we’ll
train you on running the equipment. You do not have to develop the slide shows, just run the
show during the service. Please contact the office at 519-660-6198 to sign on to our small team. Thank you.
