Summer Services – In July and August, we will continue to gather for worship at 8:30 and 10:00 am on Sundays at St. Jude’s. Don’t let sunny weather be an excuse to skip church!
Outreach for June
In June, it’s the men’s turn!
Men’s Mission: providing emergency shelter for an individual or family, or caring for those with mental health needs Mission Services of London is there with a message of hope through faith serving those who struggle with poverty and homelessness. They provide food, shelter, clothing, crisis intervention and rehabilitation. Needs: gloves, toiletries, razors, underwear, wallets.
Unity Project: working to stabilize people in their moment of crisis and to engage them in their own process toward stability while utilizing all available community resources. Housing (with supports) is the solution to homelessness and we will continue to develop our program around this outcome for participants. Needs: socks, bus tickets, t-shirts,small backpacks, razors, underwear, coffee mugs.
St. Paul's Foodbank
Our next Paul’s Place food bank Sunday is Sunday, 12th July.
Donations are down somewhat, so let’s try to pick it up for July, fresh stuff especially. Please remember that you don’t have to wait for the Food Bank Sunday to bring your gifts, you can come any morning in the week with them - useful to know if you are not able to come on the Sunday.
Volunteers needed for summer snack program for LUSO
Our summer snack programme plans are well underway but we are still in need of more volunteers to help with food prep and/or delivery driving. If you or someone at St. Jude’s are interested in supporting, the commitment is usually 8am-9am for the morning.... so relatively minimal impact on your day. Feel free to share this link with others:

Breakfast Program
We served 152 breakfasts this past Saturday. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, families, and friends, we continue to provide a warm and nourishing meal for our community despite the rising costs of food. And the need continues to grow.! For each breakfast we hard boil 300 eggs, our bakers provide 300 muffins and 150 treats, and we serve at least 2 large crockpots of oatmeal with brown sugar and milk. Our guests are very grateful not only for the food, but also for the toiletries, clothing and footwear available. All of these offerings mean their scarce resources can be stretched to to pay rent and transportation costs.
Please join us for coffee and conversation at our next breakfast on July 4th from 9 - 10:30 am.
We are now planning for the October 5Km Run/Walk partnership with St. John's. The funds raised through the event augment the program budget. However, we still depend on the monthly donations from our St. Jude's families and friends to provide this vital outreach ministry to our community year round. S ome other meal programmes close their doors through July and August - usually because their volunteers aren't available. This can mean increased numbers for St. Jude's and your donations help us to absorb the costs accrued.
This year's Church Picnic is next Sunday June 28th, after the 10:00 service. Hosted in All Saints Hall, Burgers and Hot Dogs supplied ,and please bring your favourite salads or dessert.
Free will offering.
Craft Room Coordinator: We are in urgent need of a volunteer to take on coordinating activities in the Craft Room - St. Martha's room. The crafts worked on by the team are sold in quantity at the Christmas Bazaar and also throughout the year. The coordinator keeps track of the inventory, suggests new items to make, and buys supplies as needed. While the usual crafting day has been Wednesday, this can be changed to accommodate new crafters. Our retiring Coordinator Nancey Orosz is happy to orient and help the new volunteer. Interested? Have questions? Contact the office at 519-660-6198.
