“When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion for them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” The Gospel this week inspires Fr Bill’s homily about the pain, suffering and brokenness in this world, in our community, in our parish family. Jesus calls us to help with the harvest of the crowd as the labourers are few – care for the sick, feed the hungry, acknowledge the other, recognize and name the hurt and fear of our racialized brothers and sisters. Thank you to Derek, Christina and Fr Bill for this week’s full service and Fr Bill’s sermon alone. A reminder that if you would like to sing along with Christina, just call the church to pick up a Book of Common Praise.
