Please join us for today’s service of Holy Eucharist celebrating the Second Sunday of Lent. Fr Bill offers two short sermons based on the Gospel reading. Sermon one addresses the openness and respect the Pharisees showed to Jesus in warning him about Harrod’s intent to kill him. In our very divisive world right now, respectful discourse seems to have been replaced by anger and threats. Even given their longstanding differences, the Pharisees modeled a better way. Sermon two points to the time Jesus took to reach Jerusalem, even after he had set his face in that direction. On that last journey, he took time to heal the sick and continue to do the work he was called to. So should we too consider that it is the loving and caring work we do in our own journey to God’s kingdom that matters every bit as reaching the end. Thank you to Christina, Ken and Sharon for rounding out the liturgy today. God’s peace to you and those you meet in the week ahead…
