Prayer and Pastoral Care

Cycle of Prayer for January
Tell – Evangelism
“To proclaim the good news of the kingdom” is to share the news that Christ God is reconciling
the world to himself in words.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, let your presence fill our hearts and overflow in our actions, that we may
proclaim the good news of your kingdom. Let your glory fill this place.
Let your glory fill this world!

We honour ministries in support of EVANGELISM the First Mark of Mission.
Liturgical Ministries: Priests, Licensed Lay Readers, Servers, Intercessors, Readers, Lay
administrators, Chancel Guild, Seminary Student Committee, Prayer and Eucharistic Services in
Community, Funeral Home Services, On Line Worship Services and all the liturgical technical
support people, temporary clergy and musicians.

Let us pray for
Pat and Sean; Raj and Sangeeta; Cyndi; Diane and Jack plus Linda; Debbie; Win; Marie and
Bob; Ruth; Phyllis; Mary Barb; Dave and Marylynn; Nelson; Ruth; Precious; Stephanie; Alex;
Jamie and Cathie; David, Elizabeth, Diane, Dave and Joanne, Valerie, Leigh plus Keith and
Karleen; Joseph and Erin plus John; Geoff plus Linda and Randy, Kelly; Baby Caleb, Autumn;
Karen; Houda and Len, Nancy; Paul and Jan; Dominique, Cathie; Heather and Phil.
And for those known to each of you alone and those who have no one to put their names
forward or to remember them by name.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
For the safe arrival of healthy baby Elna on Jan 20th, to proud parents Shanto and Annu. We give
thanks that all three are doing well. She will be a friend to her cousin baby Heza, born in
December and already a regular St Jude’s attender.

Let us Pray for

Those suffering from rising food availability due to costs and lack of disposable income after
paying the high costs of housing (rent, mortgage, utilities, etc.). May citizens work together to
support the vulnerable and advocate for a true living wage and income; with affordable
appropriate housing and related support.

Let us Pray for

Those people whose lives are negatively impacted by war, oppression, occupation, repression
and abuse especially in Ukraine, in Africa and Afghanistan. May all be set free and give
opportunities to flourish and thrive, to feel safe and supported as they recover from unthinkable
trauma and rebuild their lives.

Let us Pray for

Bishop Todd and our priest Bill as they guide the people of God. May they be guided by
Holy Spirit and never forget that they are appreciated.

Let us Pray for

The overburdened health care workers in all sectors where overcapacity and understaffing has
become all to common, as long wait times and waiting lists negatively impact many people
young and old. May workers know their efforts and dedication are admired and they are
esteemed, and patients know they are never alone for God feels their pain and anxiety.

Outreach

The Outreach Committee in January is concentrating on Distress Centre/Stabilization Beds.
The Outreach will be supporting the Canadian Mental Health Association and their stabilization
beds. We are collecting twin sheet sets, towels, face cloths and writing journals for the month
of January. With sincere thanks from the Outreach committee for your continued support.

St. Paul’s Food Bank
Our next Food Bank Sunday is Sunday, 12th February. They would appreciate Cereals , Mac &
Cheese , Spaghetti Noodles , spaghetti Sauce , coffee and tea bags, and containers.

Breakfast Program
73 takeout breakfasts were served last Saturday. As more of our friends take time to enjoy coffee together inside, the team is making plans for opening up to more in house dining in the spring. At that time more volunteers will be needed to help on Saturdays. Please discuss your questions and suggestions with any of the team members or contact the office at 519-660-6198 if you are interested in volunteering.
Our next breakfast is Saturday February 4th, from 9–10:30 am. All are welcome!
