Summer services
A service of Morning Prayer this Sunday at 9.30 am
Thank you to Cyndi for leading us so well in Morning Prayer last Sunday, and also to Sharon
our valued Warden, showing her hidden talents by playing the music for that service!
Memorials: Freddie Smith (son of “Jack”), has donated a Rose of Sharon in honour of his father.
Wally and Cindy also donated a Rose of Sharon in honour of Cindys’ brother David Akin. They
have been planted by the flag poles.
Outreach
Outreach
August is the month when we start to think of Back to School!! So, gifts of school supplies for
those who need but may not be able to afford them will be welcome and very useful. Things like
backpacks especially, but any other supplies that returning students can use. Bring your gifts to
the Narthex for blessing later, and distribution.
Breakfast Program
We have all experienced the rising cost of groceries and toiletries and we appreciate and give
thanks for the amazing generosity of the family and friends of St. Jude. In order to continue to
provide a nutritious meal for those who attend our Breakfast Program, we will need
additional resources. To that end, a member of our team has volunteered to visit local
businesses to ask for their financial or in kind donations to support this vital outreach ministry.
She will leave them with a letter and information about the program. Your prayers are needed
for the success of this new strategy and we will be sure to keep everyone up to date on the
outcomes. In the meantime, donations of toiletries, toilet paper and gently used clothing for
adults and children are welcome. The next breakfast is this Saturday August 19th
– all are welcome to join us – come and see your donations at work!
St. Paul’s Food Bank
Our next Food Bank Sunday is Sunday, 10th September.
They always appreciate spaghetti Sauce, canned meat, mac & cheese, peanut butter, cereals,
canned soup, etc.
