Breakfast Program
On the December 30th (the 5th Saturday of December) New Year’s breakfast we served 98,
including several new folks. The hot entrée was grilled ham and cheese. For the treat, we served
cinnamon rolls made by a trusty team of St Jude’s bakers before Christmas and frozen in
readiness. We were able to give out much needed winter jackets in a variety of sizes.
On January 6th (the 1st Saturday of January) breakfast we served 109, including many we hadn’t
seen for a while, as well as several new folks. One couple, on their 2nd visit to us and newly
arrived to Canada would like to volunteer at our breakfast once they are more established in a
few weeks. The hot entrée was our popular egg and veggie casserole. The home baked treats
and muffins were donated by our band of loyal bakers with thanks!!! Again we were able to
provide warm coats and clothing to those who needed them. A donation of bedding (red sheets
and a handmade matching quilt) for a twin bed found a home at today’s breakfast.
The Breakfast Team would like to thank all those Winter Angels who donated the coats along
with the many bags of men’s and women’s clothing and footwear. We are also most thankful for
the large bag of hand knitted hats and scarves.
At this time we are looking for
• Men’s medium and large winter jackets
• gently used bath and hand towels,
• boots and winter gloves for a 9 year old boy (youth size 9 or mens 5 ) and a 6 year old
girl ( size 2)
• size 11 women’s winter boots
Lastly, the Deanery of London has donated $700.00 toward our Breakfast Program. This
amount will cover the cost of food for one breakfast, with leftovers, and to purchase ongoing
supplies such as clamshell boxes, sandwich bags, foil wrap and grocery sized bags for those
who take away their breakfasts.
The next breakfast is on Saturday 20th January.

St. Paul’s Food Bank
Our next Food Bank Sunday is next Sunday, 14th January 2024. As usual, they would
appreciate Cereals, Canned Meat, Mac & Cheese, Pasta Sauce & Pasta Noodles, Side Dishes,
Canned Soup, Toilet Paper.
