Breakfast program
This past July marked the 5-year anniversary for the Breakfast Program at St. Jude’s. The
program, begun at St. Alban’s, ran initially as an eat-in only meal. Menus included ham and
eggs; sausage, hash browns and eggs; bacon and eggs; pancakes, sausage and eggs.
A brief comparison in some of the groceries from July 2019 until August 2024 looks like this:
Eggs – 6 dozen to 20 dozen; bananas – 4 dozen to 10 dozen; Bread – 6 loaves to 16 loaves; Juice –
2 litres of apple, 2 litres of orange to 8 litres of orange and 240 juice boxes.
Our sincere thanks to the folks of St. Alban’s who had the foresight to establish this vital ministry
and who coached and participated in the successful transition from their parish to St. Jude’s. And
many thanks to those who continue to help here – baking, cooking, serving. Without you, this
program may not have happened.
Our next breakfast is this Saturday, August 17th, from 9 – 10:30 am. All are welcome!
