Breakfast Program-New to St. Jude’s or need a refresher? Our community outreach breakfast ministry
is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday morning of every month in All Saints Hall, on the lower level of the
church building. Everyone is welcome to attend this complimentary breakfast regardless of where they
live, their housing situation, their income and their family circumstances. Guests and friends can
enjoy a bowl (or 3) of hot porridge, orange juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate while they relax
and visit with our volunteers or other guests. They are offered the following to eat in or take
home – juice boxes, white or chocolate milk, yogurt, cheese strings, bananas, oranges, hard boiled
eggs, packet of oatmeal, muffins, treat of the week, toilet paper and the hot entrée of the week – a
grilled ham and cheese sandwich, breakfast casserole, or breakfast burrito wrap. In the hall
volunteers help guests select complementary clothing, footwear, toiletries, household goods, and
books that have been donated by St. Jude’s parishioners, their friends and families.
The annual financial costs for the program- about $18,000 – are covered by donations specific
to this ministry. No funding comes from the operating budget of the church. While we couldn’t
run the program without the outstanding financial support we receive, we are blessed with an
exceptional team of volunteers who ensure that all are welcomed into a warm and caring space.
Please join us anytime for a coffee and conversation, and consider joining this great St. Jude’s
ministry. Contact Glenda at 519 -951-8154 or [email protected] for more information.
Our next breakfast is this Saturday May 3rdfrom 9 – 10:30 am. All are welcome!.
