we shall have a guest speaker, Peter Fragiskatos MP, our representative for this riding, to bring
Canada Day greetings from Ottawa.
Outreach
Outreach. In June the Focus is on Men.
Men’s Mission: providing emergency shelter for an individual or family, or caring for those
with mental health needs, Mission Services of London is there with a message of hope through
faith serving those who struggle with poverty and homelessness. They provide food, shelter,
clothing, crisis intervention and rehabilitation.
Needs: gloves, toiletries, razors, underwear, wallets
Unity Project: working to stabilize people in their moment of crisis and to engage them in their
own process toward stability while utilizing all available community resources. Housing (with
supports:) is the solution to homelessness and we will continue to develop our program around
this outcome for participants.
Needs: socks, bus tickets, t-shirts, small backpacks, razors, underwear, coffee mugs
St. Paul’s Food Bank. Our next Food Bank Sunday is Sunday July 9th. Their needs continue to
be pasta sauce, pasta noodles, canned meat, canned soup, pork & beans, peanut butter or
jam, mac & cheese, toilet paper, granola bars or oatmeal for kids.
In addition they especially appreciate receiving fresh produce – apples, oranges, vegetables.
Breakfast Program
Congratulations to the 10 St. Jude’s parishioners who successfully completed the Food Handler
certification process! We are now in compliance with all the conditions set out by the Health unit
to get a Green Pass on our kitchen.
We are in the prep stages to get ready for breakfast this coming Saturday. It is National
Indigenous Peoples day and so we’re encouraging our volunteers to wear orange or red shirts to
recognize and celebrate the extensive contributions made by indigenous peoples to this country.
Please join us for breakfast or a coffee this week to see how your generosity makes a difference
to those in our community. Saturday June 21st from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. All are welcome!
Also in June: Strawberries for St. Jude’s Breakfast. Financial donations will be appreciated to
provide fresh strawberries for the community breakfast closest to Canada Day.
Church Events
This Sunday, 22nd June, is our annual “before the summer break picnic”, with a pot luck lunch
after the services, and games for all! In All Saints Hall for lunch, and then out side for fun. This
event is being hosted by the Sunday School, and hot dogs from the BBQ will be supplied, but
they ask for salads and desserts from us. See the poster in the Narthex for full details, or contact
Cindy Warner or Bryan Smith.
Grubby Day!! We are having an “Early Summer Grubby Day” next Saturday, June 21st
