Outreach

In June the Focus is on Men.

Men’s Mission: providing emergency shelter for an individual or family, or caring for those with mental health needs, Mission Services of London is there with a message of hope through faith serving those who struggle with poverty and homelessness. They provide food, shelter, clothing, crisis intervention and rehabilitation.

Needs: gloves, toiletries, razors, underwear, wallets

Unity Project: working to stabilize people in their moment of crisis and to engage them in their own process toward stability while utilizing all available community resources. Housing (with supports:) is the solution to homelessness and we will continue to develop our program around this outcome for participants.

Needs: socks, bus tickets, t-shirts, small backpacks, razors, underwear, coffee mugs

Also in June: Strawberries for St. Jude’s. Financial donations will be appreciated to provide fresh strawberries for the community breakfast closest to Canada Day.

St. Paul’s Food Bank. Our next Food Bank Sunday is Sunday June 8th, Their needs continue to be pasta sauce, pasta noodles, canned meat, canned soup, pork & beans, peanut butter or jam, mac & cheese, toilet paper, granola bars or oatmeal for kids.

In addition they especially appreciate receiving fresh produce – apples, oranges, vegetables.

FundScrip. Rick will be in the Narthex between the services on Sunday with your cards.

Breakfast Program

It will be great to have some warm weather to share breakfast with the community this upcoming Saturday. Despite the warming temperatures, we will still serve lots of hot chocolate and a couple of pots of oatmeal. The one other staple that our guests and friends are always in need of is toilet paper. Perhaps the next time you see toilet paper on sale, you could pick up an extra package to donate to the program.

If you are coming to the yard sale this Saturday, please drop in to the All Saints Hall and say hello. We’d be happy to see you!

The next breakfast is this Saturday June 7 from 9 to 10:30 am. Everyone is welcome.

Fundraising and Social

Fund Raising & Social Committee Yard Sale this Saturday, June 7th , 8 am to noon. Like other years we do a 50/50 split with people who have a table. The Committee sets up the tables, and participants are responsible for taking away what is not sold. Coffee will be available. Contact Derek Shadlock or Bryan Smith if you wish a table.

ACW pies are back!! the ACW is making rhubarb pies today. Don’t despair if you miss out on this first run of pies. We have lots of rhubarb so will be making more throughout the summer. Call or email Glenda to get your order in at [email protected] or 519-951-8154. Many thanks to our generous rhubarb donors.

Pig Roast Dinner. Once again, many thanks to Derek Shadlock and his team for organizing and overseeing the dinner last Saturday, when a lot of people enjoyed some of St. Jude’s delicious food! We have quite a reputation!
