In May we Focus on Women:
 My Sister’s Place: Is many things to the 100 plus women who walk through its doors each day. It is Safety. It is Support. It is Sisterhood. Women who access My Sisters’ Place range in age from 16 – 70 and come from diverse backgrounds. Most have experienced abuse, trauma, and isolation. More than 80% are dealing with mental health challenges. Needs: panties (all sizes), hats/mittens, small birthday gifts, hairbrushes, feminine hygiene products; craft items, wool, jewelry.
anova: formerly Women’s Community House (WCH) and Sexual Assault Centre London (SACL), anova provides safe places, shelter, support, counselling, and resources for abused women, their children, and all oppressed individuals to find a new start. Provide enhanced sexual violence and prevention work for youth, and an integrated 24-hour crisis and support line.
Needs: pajamas, slippers, coloring books and crayons, makeup, sheets, craft items, wool.

St. Paul's Foodbank
Our next Paul’s Place food bank Sunday is Sunday, 10th May. The usual stuff, pasta sauce , pasta noodles , canned Meat , canned Soup , pork & beans , peanut butter or jam , mac & cheese, toilet papers , granola bars or oatmeal for kids, is much appreciated, plus fresh vegetables and/or fruit. Oh, and egg cartons too, if you have some.

Community Breakfast: our next breakfast is this Saturday, 2nd May, 9-10.30. All are welcome! The bakers are ar work getting the 300 muffins and 150 treats made for the next product sale. On Friday, the kitchen prep team will boil 300 eggs and put together 150+ ham and cheese sandwiches. In ASH, the hall prep team will sort, size and label the clothing donations and organize the room in readiness for Saturday. While we officially start serving at 9 am, our friends and guests start arriving at 7:30 for a warm safe place and a chance to visit with friends. We are always grateful for new volunteers, whether baking at home or joining us on Friday or Saturday. Interested? Come on Saturday and check us out! This Saturday May 2nd.

Nearly New Shop: The Nearly New Shop now has spring and summer clothes available. A great time to freshen up your wardrobe. All sizes from babies to adult 2X, both men and women, shoes, hats and purses. Everything is like new. For those who are unfamiliar the shop is downstairs.
Open Tuesday morning 10 to noon, Saturday 9 to noon.
All sales are used for Outreach.

Pig Roast and Auction: May 30th. Dinner at 6, Auction at 7. The Pork Dinner Includes: potatoes, veggies, coleslaw and homemade pie. We are currently accepting donated items for the auction.

Camp Huron Sings – Camp Huron celebrates 80 years in 2026. Come to St. James Westminster Church (115 Askin St), May 9th from 7:00-9:30 pm for an evening of music, stories, and connection. Cost is $30. Purchase tickets at simpli.events/e/camp-huron-sings.

A Tribute Recital for Helen Poole – Helen Poole, a parishioner of St. Jude’s was a beloved musician in the London area. She died in 2023. In her honour, St. Jude’s will host a recital featuring Alexandre von Wartburg and Eliza Lam on bassoon, harp and piano. Sat, May 30th, 4:00 pm. Donations are welcome with all proceeds going toward St. Jude’s music ministry.

Learning Together

Anglican Fellowship of Prayer: The Bishop of Huron's conference will be at St. Jude's this Saturday 2nd May, 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, with Bishop Todd as guest speaker. All are welcome and invited to attend. Cost is $20.00, and you can register at brlmail2@aol.com.

Education for Ministry (EfM) Open HouseEfM is a small group experience focussed on how faith connects and is lived in everyday life. One of EfM’s face-t0-face mentoring groups meets at St. Jude’s on Tuesday mornings. Interested in learning more? Attend one of the upcoming Open Houses: May 12th at 7:00 pm (virtual), June 10th at 7:00 pm (in person), August 26th (virtual). Exploring the Epistle to the EphesiansThe Church of St. John the Evangelist in London has invited the people of St. Jude’s to participate in an online study of the Letter to the Ephesians on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:00 pm, throughout the summer. These online sessions will be facilitated by Tom Mawlam who is the licensed lay reader at St. John’s, with occasional drop-ins by the clergy of St. John’s and St. Jude’s. There will be a face-to-face gathering at St. Jude’s on Wednesday, June 3rd from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Come out to learn more, meet your neighbours from another parish, and enjoy refreshments. Streams of Grace: Reflections on Spiritual Formation – This series of online reflections from Father Kevin appears on St. Jude’s Facebook page each Wednesday. Over the centuries, the Church has returned again and again to at least six practices that renew its life in seasons of need. As you view each reflection please hit “like” and “share.” Please spread the word.

Living the Gift – Stewardship in Word and Practice – On Saturday, June 13th St. Jude’s will be the location for a diocesan workshop on holistic stewardship: time, talent, treasure. The facilitator will be Davey Gerhart, Executive Director of The Episcopal Network for Stewardship, based in San Francisco. Mark your calendar and plan to attend! Also, please speak to Father Kevin if you can serve on the local arrangements committee for this event, or for the diocesan clergy day that will precede it on Friday, June 12th.

Grubby Day! Thank you! To all who came out for Grubby Day last Saturday. Lots got done, which is helpful, but as usual not everything was accomplished, so if the spirit moves you to come for an hour or s to help finish up, please do.
